Rules:

  • Fighting is not permitted.

  • Zero tolerance policy for any sexual or racial discrimination. 

  • Standard inline hockey equipment is required to play.

  • Helmets must be worn at all times while on the rink or bench.

  • Mercy rule applies. Teams that are losing or winning by 8 goals is a mercy. Once a team achieves an 8 goal margin, the game stops. If this happens before the first period is over, the game will still go on until the first period ends. 

  •  Teams are guaranteed at least one period of play.

  • Absolutely NO spectators are permitted on the bench. Players, Registered Coaches/Managers, Referees, and Showtime Employees/Volunteers only have bench and rink access.

  • Player suspensions will be based on their offense.

  • Suspended players are not permitted on the bench, on the rink, or go through the handshake line for the game(s) they are suspended for. They are to act as spectators for that/those game(s).

  • Coaches, and players are not permitted to speak to the scorekeepers in a disorderly manner. The referees are game officials who are capable of answering questions or concerns about the scoreboard and the game if players and coaches have any. If something happens regarding the score or the time clock, please talk to a referee about it so they can handle it. 

  • Coaches and managers must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Each team must have a coach or manager listed on their roster. That person is the individual responsible for their team showing up, or not showing up, and responsible for handling team registration payments or fines. 

  • In the event a players helmet falls off, the play will be immediately stopped, and the refs determine where the puck drop will be based on the stoppage. 

  • Helmet straps are mandatory. Any player found not wearing one must immediately get off the rink to attach one to their helmet, and then may return to play. If they refuse to attach one, they must leave the game. 

Tournament Team Drop Fee:

  • When teams register, they are automatically put into the schedule, and their tournament spot is secured. Teams who back out of the tournament are subject to paying a $200 Tournament Team Drop Fee for doing so. 

  • Teams need a Tournament Team Drop Form to officially drop from the event, and will need to email ShowtimeRollerHockeySeries@gmail.com immediately.

Game Protocol:

  • 3 game guarantee.

  • 2 minute warmup.

  • 1 minute intermission.

  • 2 x 12 minute stop clock periods. 

  • Games can and will start up to 30 minutes early if we are ahead of schedule. Please arrive early to your scheduled games.

  • Time-outs during round-robin are not permitted.

  • Each team is granted one time-out per game in playoffs and championship games. They are 1 minute in duration. 

  • Penalties are one minute and thirty seconds for minor penalties.

  • Penalties are three minutes for major penalties.

  • Once a penalty is called, the goalie can be pulled for a man advantage on the team the penalty is against. The red line rule is enacted at this point. Once the team who the penalty is against crosses the red line with the puck, they cannot go back over. If they do, immediate stoppage of play will be enacted. 

  • One player accumulating four minor penalties or two major penalties in one game results in immediate dismissal of the player from that game. 

  • Speaking poorly, disorderly, and swearing at the referees is not tolerated.  Referees have the right to remove anyone from the game, bench, or premises for any misconduct.

  • Games can end in a tie in round-robin.

  • In playoffs, games that end in a tie will go to a 3v3 overtime for 5 minutes. If that does not determine a winner, a 3-player shootout will occur. The team who shoots first in the shootout is determined by the home team.

  • If the 3-player shootout still ends in a tie, players from each team must shoot one by one until someone wins. This is sudden death. 

  • Players in a shootout can only shoot once until their entire team shoots. If the shootout lasts through the entire team roster, players can shoot again.

  • Teams will be awarded 3 points for a regulation win, 1 point each for a tie, and 0 points for a loss.

Waiver & Liability:

  • Players, Managers, and Coaches are required to sign the waiver that will be presented to them at check-in. Without signing the waiver, rink and bench access will be denied, and players will not be able to compete. 

  • Spectators who enter or are near the inline hockey premises and facility assume the risk of watching, engaging, and socializing near and around the inline hockey event. Showtime Roller Hockey Series is not liable for any lost, damaged, or stolen items and/or goods. Showtime Roller Hockey Series is not liable for any personal injury and/or damage to spectators resulting from them watching, engaging, and/or socializing on, around, and/or near the premises and facility of the inline hockey event. 

Rosters:

  • Rosters must be finalized and submitted before your teams second game. There will be no exceptions to add or remove any players from your team after that deadline.

  • Each person on your roster must play at least one round-robin game to qualify for playoffs and championship games.

  • Players must be eligible to play in a division based on their birth year. Age determination for 2025 tournaments is ages before or on 12/31/2024.

  • Adult: Ages 16 and older are permitted to play adult. Players must wear full caged helmets under the age of 18.

  • Girls: Girls are permitted to play one entire age division down, according to their ages before or on 12/31/2024.

Jerseys/Pants:

  • Teams are required to have a set of home and away or light and dark jersey sets for games. 

  • The jerseys do not have to match.

  • The jerseys must have numbers somewhere on the jersey.

  • Inline pants do not have to match the jersey. 

  • Players are allowed to wear ice hockey socks/pants with their equipment if they prefer. 

Concussion Protocol:

  • Players are not permitted to play in games if they are suspected to have a concussion. Concussions and all neurodegenerative injuries are dangerous, and no player is permitted to take any risk of themselves getting hurt while playing or spectating at Showtime Roller Hockey Series' Events.

  • Showtime Roller Hockey Series is not responsible for any neurodegenerative or concussion injuries. Showtime Roller Hockey Series is also not responsible for participants, spectators, or coaches playing, coaching, or spectating if you have a concussion or neurodegenerative injury.

Tournament Team No Show Information:

  • ​Teams who register, and fail to show up for their scheduled games are subjected to paying a "No Show Fine."

  • If a team is playing against a team that does not show, the team that is present is awarded an automatic win. 

  • Teams who "no show" are subjected to immediate dismissal and ban from any and all Showtime Roller Hockey Series Events.
